Following Blue Movie, Wim Verstappen directed the satire VD, one of the most controversial films made in Holland.
Cornelis van Doorn is the head of the family business VD, a factory producing meat and medical products, as well as the patriarch of his family. When the aging leader begins to step aside, a new generation prepares to take control based on the established VD code, though not without internal conflict.
Following Blue Movie, director Wim Verstappen delivers a sharp satire with VD, one of the most controversial films to emerge from Holland, tackling moral and social themes including family dysfunction, personal choice, excess, and unethical business practices. Producer Pim de la Parra described the newly restored VD as “the most brilliant film” Wim Verstappen ever made.
