1989: While working in a cathedral, a young librarian comes across a mysterious, ancient document, the trail of which leads him to a huge, walled-in cross. But while he is trying to partially uncover it, something terrible, something incomprehensible happens. The gloomy church suddenly comes to life again and draws everyone inside into a stream of gruesome events. It becomes the devil's playground, where excessive hallucinations, orgies of the deepest depravity and bloody rituals take place. What happened in this sacred place 850 years ago? Was it the plague, a terrible massacre, witchcraft or are they the victims of medieval torture whose souls are now seeking an answer in the present? No one knows...
