After the death of a Danish tourist, the police have only one piece of evidence: the victim's severed, half-decayed skull. They call in Professor McGregor, whose assistant Rita was also a victim of the killer. As a specialist in entomology, he can determine the exact time of death based on the flies and maggots found on the body parts. At the same time, Jennifer Corvino arrives in Zurich to visit the boarding school there. She has the extraordinary ability to call and control insects. When the killer strikes again, the victims are students from the boarding school. After finding a glove covered with larvae of a certain type of fly that only feeds on corpses, the professor comes up with the idea that Jennifer can use one of these flies to lead her to the place where the corpses are kept. And indeed, Jennifer is led to an old house, where she is shocked to discover that the recent murders were by no means the only ones...
