Voodoo, the zombie island of horror... an inferno of horror with the dead rising again as zombies - the living dead. These creatures have only one drive: the greed for fresh human flesh! After a sailing yacht abandoned by its crew turns up off New York with a zombie on board, reporter Peter West and Ann, the daughter of the missing yacht owner, follow the trail back to the Antillean island of Matul, which is also known as the "home of the damned" as a stronghold of the Voodoo cult, to which the zombies owe their existence. Soon, however, they wish they had never come here: graves open all over the island, zombies emerge and pounce on the living. After horrific experiences, Peter and Ann manage to escape. But a terrible surprise awaits them in New York...
