The Waits family is looking forward to a quiet country getaway with their homestay in the small town of Nilbog, although young Joshua has a bad feeling about the trip. He’s been visited by the ghostly spirit of his late Grandpa Seth, who warns him that the town is secretly inhabited by goblins who can disguise themselves as humans.

When the family arrives in Nilbog, strange things begin happening immediately. The townspeople act suspiciously, the food has a strange green tint, and the milk in town looks like it’s been sitting out for days. While the rest of the family tries to make the best of the unusual situation, Joshua realizes they are in serious danger. Guided by Grandpa Seth, he must find a way to stop the goblins and their mysterious queen before his family becomes their next meal.
