Director's cut and producer's cut

The young Cashen patchwork family moves away from the stressful life in the big city to a remote, old farmhouse in the middle of nowhere in Texas. After arriving in their new home, their young son Willy explores the area and quickly makes friends with an Indian shaman, who immediately warns him about the powerful magical powers and an old Comanche curse that has been on this land for ages. Of course, his father Mance wants nothing to do with monsters, curses and old Indian superstitions. But when Willy discovers a hidden door in the basement and unknowingly removes a sacred Indian spear that is stuck in the ground in front of the door, he opens the door to the human world for a demonic, man-eating monster. From now on, no one on the farm and in the surrounding area is safe...

    Additional information:
Filming began with director John Woodward and was then continued by Kevin Tenney (Director's Cut). Tenney's version was then revised again by the film's producers (the well-known Producer's Cut). Tenney's Director's Cut has only been shown once to date. Since the Producer's Cut was radically re-edited by the producers, the two versions differ in many shots. The Director's Cut, for example, dispenses with the mystical Indian aspect of the plot and impresses with better dramaturgy and a more logical sequence of scenes. It begins with the events in the 1930s, which were included as flashbacks in the Producer's Cut, and we learn more about the background.
