Author Peter Neal is in Rome to present his new book. His visit, however, is overshadowed by a gruesome murder. The victim, a young woman, is found with her throat slashed and crumpled pages of Neal's novel in her mouth. The police investigate whether the popular author is connected to the crime, but he still believes it's all a coincidence. However, when more victims are found and he himself becomes the target of the deranged killer, his perspective changes. Together with his assistant, he tries to uncover the truth behind the deadly plot, quickly finding himself in grave danger.
