One year after the events surrounding the "Terror from the Amazon", two Americans travel to the black lagoon at the headwaters of the river to find the creature that was believed to be dead. With a lot of effort, they actually catch the monster and are able to bring it to an aquarium in Florida. When the monster discovers the enchanting marine biologist Helen there, it is doomed. It escapes from the research facility and kidnaps Helen to the beach in Florida.

"Master of disaster" Jack Arnold once again lets his Terror from the Amazon loose and the horror begins again. In one of his first screen appearances, Hollywood veteran Clint Eastwood can be seen in a supporting role.
