Persepolis (2007) Blu-ray

Based on Marjane Satrapi’s autobiographical graphic novel, the film follows a young, outspoken Iranian girl named Marjane (voiced by Chiara Mastroianni) as she grows up during the 1979 Islamic Revolution. As fundamentalists seize power and enforce strict cultural and religious rules, Marjane defies the regime by listening to forbidden Western music and speaking her mind. When the danger grows too severe, her parents send her to school in Vienna, Austria, where she faces alienation and isolation before eventually returning to Iran and later moving to France.
