The young couple Em and James Foster enjoy an exotic holiday in the luxury resort in La Tolqa - strictly isolated from the poor population. The mysterious Gabi persuades the two to take a secret car trip to the beach. On the night drive back, disaster strikes: James, drunk, runs over a villager. The archaic state law demands the death penalty - an eye for an eye. There is a way out for James: in return for a large sum of money, a duplicate of him is created, which suffers the brutal execution.
