George and Kathy Lutz and their children from their first marriage believe they have found   the perfect home for their future in Amityville, a town near New York  . But they ignore the fact that a year earlier Ronald DeFeo Jr. brutally murdered his parents in their sleep in the house . Voices in the house supposedly told him to do so . It is not long before the Lutz children are also haunted. Visions, ghostly apparitions and personality changes are the result. Soon the family has only one thing in mind: to leave the house alive. But George also seems to be possessed.
